This is the third music video I created during the pandemic: “The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress,” written by Jimmy Webb. Having completed a recording of “Georgia on My Mind” with me, my friend Luther Schutz asked if we might record this song as well.

Although set to the same tempo as the well-known version by Glen Campbell, my arrangement has a very different feel due to the spare guitar track, in contrast to the very ornate piano and orchestra arrangement in the popular version. I recorded the guitar in my home in Duvall, Washington. The vocal track was then recorded in Luther’s home an hour north, in Mount Vernon, Washington.
